# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - In a large ovenproof skillet or baking dish, melt the butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and maple syrup; stir continuously until sugar dissolves and mixture bubbles, approximately 2 minutes.
03 - Add the sliced pears to the skillet. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, gently tossing to coat. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears soften and begin to caramelize.
04 - Stir in walnut halves and vanilla extract gently to combine.
05 - Transfer the skillet or pour the mixture into a baking dish. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until pears are tender and walnuts are toasted.
06 - Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm, topped with Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream if desired.
